The “J&B Circle”, now known as the “Endangered Species of Malawi”, are totally involved and committed to saving the endangered species of animals within Malawi.
We are a charity group of part time volunteers assisting the under funded Malawi Department of National Parks and Wildlife to manage and relocate animals too and from the “Black Rhino Breeding Sanctuary” situated in Liwonde National Park.
ESOM (Endangered Species of Malawi) is made up of 12 active members and a work force of 25 employees. Two DNPW trained rhino scouts are seconded to the Rhino Project and fall under our management. Our work force is made up of Rhino Scouts, fence attendants, vehicle drivers and labourers.
Our main annual events other than daily management of the breeding animals and the sanctuary include animal translocations, assisting the DNPW with park road maintenance and conducting our annual 72 hour Sanctuary Waterhole Count, details of which are include in this website.
Our endangered animal species include, Black Rhino, Buffalo, Eland, Zebra, Roan Antelope, Lichtenstein's Hartebeest and Sable Antelope.
